Hope you like the taste of heavy metals in your drinking water.
Because these things are going to ruin the planet.
Don’t get us wrong, the Roboni-i Programmable Gaming Robot is much cooler than its incredibly stupid name would lead you to believe. And this pack has everything you’ll need to get…well, started, having fun with it. You’ll be able to play with your tiny robot right out of the box and use its Energy Station, Base Station, Infrared Gun, Electronic Ball, and Resource Cards for cool but kind of lonely single player games.
Hook it up to a computer running Windows XP, Vista, or 7, though, and you’ll get an even better treat. A program editing suite that lets you update firmware, programs, and games to your robot via USB as well as learning some of the basics of software programming. You’ll be able to program the buttons on your remote like hot keys, predispose your robot’s auto behaviors when it encounters things like other robots, and track its development on its very own profile page.
So how are they going to ruin the earth? Well, between the robot, the remote, and the Base Station you’re going to need 12 AA batteries. No, that’s not a typo; 12. As in a dozen. And we know it’s easy to say, “Well I just can’t afford buying a dozen batteries so I won’t get the robot,” but then some unscrupulous retailer will offer a great deal on 12 Rechargeable AA Batteries and you’ll say, “Well, what the heck?”
Then 25 years go by and those batteries get thrown out and the cadmium and cobalt and lead leech into the groundwater and air and topsoil, eventually contaminating us. But, y’know, robots. You take the cool with the deadly.
